JUNE IS LGBTQ+ PRIDE MONTH
As a 46-year-old Gen-X pansexual who was raised Presbyterian by Silent & Boomer Gen Allies, I am confused by a Gallup Survey that shows that U.S. Support for LGBTQ+ Morality has been falling since its peak in 2022 and is at its lowest since 1996. I want to know why? Why have we gone backwards?
"Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." (1 John 4:7-8)
A few times this year, my 11 year-old niece has asked, "Why do people care who other people love? Or what they do? I don't understand why people can't just stay out of others business." She has been raised Christian- maternal side is very faithful; she has been taught Bible lessons; has been to youth group camps, and still walks away with those questions. Why? Because her God (and a few family members and close friends) teaches her to love and accept her neighbor, no matter who they are, who they love, or how they identify. She accepts, does her best to be non judgmental, and does not understand why others can not do the same, especially when it comes to her loved ones.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:13-14)
The anti-LGBTQ+ folks who believe that being LGBTQ+ is a choice make my nieces "WTF" face come out in full force. The anti-LGBTQ+ folks claim that being queer or transgender is a choice. Let's make this very clear: The only choices we have are when we accept ourselves and when we come out of the closet. Those are the only occasions we get to make a choice when it comes to being LGBTQ+.
“After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself.” (1 Samuel 18:1) David says of Jonathan: “Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women.” (2 Samuel 1:26)

If you are anti-LGBTQ+, let me ask you this:
Would you choose to be bullied? Ridiculed? Physically assaulted? Isolated (before coming out)? Not have the same rights as cisgender heterosexual beings? Not be given the same care? Opportunities? ... No one would choose "this." But, we choose to accept ourselves, love who we want, and fight to have the same autonomy and rights as cisgender heterosexual individuals.

"We, the citizens and residents of Colorado, urgently appeal to our state government to prioritize the welfare and interests of its residents. Our natural resources, including our air, land, water, and diverse wildlife, ecosystem, and geology, as well as the overall well-being of all Coloradans, must be at the forefront of your agenda. It is imperative that your decisions are guided by the voices and choices of Coloradans, reflecting the unique needs and values of our communities." - Change.org Petition

If you saw the expression on my face yesterday, you would either laugh hysterically or wonder if I had eaten something really foul and was about to throw up.
For the day, the White House turned into a white trash free-for-all, though, we do love the unintentional Pride rainbow. If I am being honest, it has been exactly that-- a white trash free-for-all --since the day Trump was inaugurated this last go around. "White trash people are poor." Don't be a bigot & a fool: You can 100% be rich white trash. Modern "translation" is about conduct, values, morals, and, yes, aesthetics definitely applies to many, but that's the stereotype.
The newest 60 Day Ceasefire Deal has people hopeful; oil prices are going down, for starters, but there is still a lot of work to be done, and neither side seems to be sharing much about the deal or plan. What we do know is the timeframe, both sides claim to be the winner, but the straight will remain closed until a deal is physically signed, according to Iran (according to Defense Minister Israel Katz); Lebanon is getting a break from Israel, though Israel told sources they will leave their military in areas they have taken control of, indefinitely. As for world leaders, all are able to exhale a bit, and are preparing for the possibility of the Straight opening.
Update 6/15/2026 read at 11:00 a.m. CST: According to AlJezeera, "Trump says ships ‘starting to move’ through Strait of Hormuz. ...US military advisory says naval blockade of Iran ports to remain until US-Iran initial deal signing on Friday." What has been digitally signed is a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that serves as a preliminary framework, preliminary being a keyword, in my opinion. I will wait until an agreement has been physically signed before I believe this conflict is finally over.
I just watched the President Macron and Trump interview... It is crazy to me that any country
leader would still be kissing Mr. Trumps ass, but I am happy for the people of France; oil prices dropping is being "celebrated" worldwide.
